Bukowski spunea că „există o pasăre albastră în inima mea care vrea să iasa, dar eu sunt prea dur pentru ea“ – o pasăre a singurătăţii fiecărui om, o captivă tristă al cărei cântec e înăbuşit de fum.

Preţ de câteva ore şi imagini, i-am atribuit Luciei personajul de „pasăre albastră“, o prizonieră a propriei sale lumi, doi ochi albaştri imenşi şi trişti.

Cine este ea? Lucia-Maria Popescu (alias Lucia) este o tânără de doar 18 ani, ale cărei cântece le-am tot auzit la radio – şi sperăm să le auzim în continuare, căci este tare talentată. Melodiile sale sunt melancolice şi profunde, aşa că am încercat să conturăm o serie de fotografii pe măsură: Lucia este delicată, feminină, visătoare, şi nu în ultimul rând, fragilă. Ca şi peştişorii din bolul de sticlă, este captivă într-o lume ai cărei pereţi se strâng tot mai mult în jurul său, sufocând-o. Eliberându-i, se eliberează pe sine.

When I was a little girl, I was convinced that if I held my breath long enough, I would turn into a mermaid. I was uttlerly dissapointed, but I did not grow a tail, my hair did not colour red, I did not learn to sing and I did not find, in my dreams, a savior prince. Later on, I used to pretend I was different characters, a new one everyday, and then more and more, depending on my moods – today: intelligent and innocent, an introvert, tomorrow: a passionate, lost princess, or Audrey, or Amy, or… a bunch of women I carefully undressed and carelessly used.

Meanwhile, I have completley foregotten who I am or which mythology I belong to…
